New RoofTop Tent – Ezi-Awn T-Top 1800 First Look

I finally received our new rooftop tent. The ARB tent was not large enough for 3 people so we are upgrading to a Ezi Awn T-Top 1800 RoofTop Tent. The 1800 is going to give us and additional 17 inches in width which will allow the 3 of us to have enough room to sleep.

Tent as delivered on Pallet

The tent was delivered on a large pallet with 2 additional boxes containing the ladder and the room.

Moving the tent into place

To be able to mount the tent I needed to add additional cross bars to the rack. Using the skid loader with the forks attached made it very easy to set the tent on the rack. The tent weighs about 200 lbs and would have been difficult to set by hand.

Placing the tent on the rack

Once bolted in place the tent is very securely mounted.

Bolting the tent to the rack

I will be doing a full write up on the tent once I have had a chance to use it in the next few weeks. I also will be adding lift struts to the rack to make lifting the tent easier to lift.

The Ezi-Awn mounted to the M416

The tent is very high quality and utilises very durable canvas and hardware.
