M416 Frame Mods

With the intention of moving my roof top tent rack outside the trailer bed some frame modifications were needed.

Back to the basics

The initial modifications where to the frame. I needed to extend the front and rear frame cross members about 10″ out from the side of the bed.

The front and rear cross members where replaced. The center was extended with short sections of  tubing These center sections are not structural.

The extended frame was then boxed in with the same tubing.

Replacing the tub

With the frame modified I was able to remount the tub to the trailer frame. I did need to notch the lower lip on the tub to accommodate the extended frame.
