DaToy Gets New Clothes

My FJ Cruiser got new seat covers today. I ordered a full set from Wet Okole with the center panel the same color as the FJ.

I have been using a cordura cover for the last 2 years that did protect the seats. The covers show wear but the seats underneath looked almost new.

The Wet Okole covers are made from, wet suit material and fit the seats very well.

The installation was pretty straight forward with little problems. I do have the following hits for your own installation:

  • For the passenger seat you may want to remove the side trim on the seat. Be sure the strap does not do under the seat slide rails.
  • I needed to remove the left bottom seat belt buckle bracket and feed it through the hole in the cover. The Buckle would not fit.
  • I the front I removed the arm rest because I thought the hole was to tight.

The covers fit snug but still have a few ares that there is a little extra fabric. With the starchiness they slid right over the seats. That’s it. The installation took me about 1.5 hours including the removal of the old covers. After some use I will write up how they are holding up.
