M416 Fender Modification for Larger Tires

For our adventure travels I run the same tires and rims on our M416 trailer as on the FJ. With the larger 295 tires additional fender clearance was needed as well as additional width.

The M416 fenders have a lip that is about 1.25 inches that adds additional strength. By cutting this lip off I was able to gain the 1.25″ back in additional tire clearance.

I then extended the fenders about 3.5 inches using urethane sheets riveted to the fenders. The urethane provides a flexible yet durable fender.

I still my have to add  wheel spaces but more on that later.
