Ham Radio Antenna Mount

While the Bandi Mount offers a great location for a CB antenna, it is not optimal for a UHF/VHF Ham radio antenna. For my initial install I chose to install my antenna on the factory roof rack, centered at the rear. While this is not optima, it is much better than mounting on the rear door hinge. To built the mount I used a large piece of “L” shaped aluminum that I picked up at a local used parts house. I was able to cut the aluminum using my electric chop saw. By adding 2 u-bolts and SO239 mount I had a solid mount point for the antenna. I was running a LARGE antenna on this and had no problems.
