White Pocket and Condors

I always enjoy the surprises I find when researching our next trip on the internet. I spend hours researching where we are planning to go looking for attractions and information. Inevitably I find a few little gems that we will be able to see.

So far for our coming spring vacation I have discovered 2 treats that we are looking forward to.

The first is a place called White Pocket. We had wanted to visit The Wave in Vermilion cliffs but I was unable to get a permit. They issue 6 permits a day via the internet and it looks like they go fast. In researching the area I uncovered a place called White Pocket. It is a location of sculpted Sandstone similar to the wave but smaller. For us it will be fun to visit because it requires a little more off-road driving to access.

The second item that I have uncovered is that Vermilion Cliffs has a large Condor population. We are not classic birders but we do enjoy seeing birds in their native setting. We will enjoy looking for condors during our visit to Vermilion Cliffs.

As I blog our tip progress I will be sure to add ample posts about these and other hidden gems that we discover.
