Gold – The Colorado Colors of Fall

On Thursday we finally made the trip to see the fall colors.

Even though we missed the peak by a week or so there were still pockets of the glorious gold of the changing aspens. To find the fall colors we took the Toyota FJ Cruiser and headed west from Colorado Springs on Old Stage Road.

With the goal being a picnic with a view we headed for a high vantage point a little off the beaten path.  About 1 hour and 20 minutes found us perched on a high overlook on the side of Mount Rosa.

With a wonderful fall sunny day the views were grand and it is always fun to get the FJ off road.
