New Blog Categories

In an effort to share more from our adventures I am adding two additional categories to the blog. We will now be discussing the hot springs we visit and the food we cook.

Saline Valley Hot Springs

On most of our trips we look to visit at least one hot spring. Unbiased information about hot springs seems to be hard to come by. We look for springs that are family friendly and nudity is not emphasized, even though it is allowed at some of them. After a long dusty day on the trail a good soak can be a precious thing.

Chicken Tikka Masala

For me part of the adventure is cooking quality sometimes gourmet meals in the wild. I will start sharing a few of the meals from each of our adventures in hopes that it will encourage a little more adventure on your part in cooking. In these post I will discuss the recipes as well as the methods that I utilize in preparation. Our goal is not presentation so there will not be any fancy wears or place settings. Even though they may seem exotic at times I always stick to meals that I feel are practical to prepare in the outback with a 2 burner stove.

tomas

Tomas has lived in Colorado since age 5. Having grown up on the Western Slope of Colorado lots of time was spent in the Desert Southwest. Tomas' father introduced him to the love of 4 wheeling at an early age in the high mountains around Aspen, Colorado. While an avid Mountain Biker, Tomas and his Family enjoy adventures in the mountains and desert in the remote locations that can only be reached by 4wd. Day hikes are always a must when on the family trips. While enjoying outdoor activities he wants to share his love as a certified 4wd trainer and ski instructor. Tomas also enjoys caving and cave exploration. Tomas currently resides in Colorado Springs.
